Buddy Anderson Day Declared By Vestavia Council
Vestavia Hills City Council named August 13, 2018 as coach Buddy Anderson Day to honor the legendary football coach.

VESTAVIA HILLS< AL - The Vestavia Hills City Council and Mayor Ashley Curry declared August 13, 2018, as Coach Buddy Anderson Day in honor of Anderson’s historic accomplishments as the Rebels' longtime football coach. Anderson has coached the Rebels for 40 seasons.
Curry and city councilor Paul Head - one of Anderson's former players - were on hand Friday at the high school’s first pep rally to celebrate. Curry read a proclamation to the student body during the pep rally, garnering a standing ovation for Anderson.
Anderson is the state's winningest coach of all time, and has led the Rebels to two state championships. This year, his status became even more legendary as he was tapped for the National High School Hall of Fame.
