Vestavia Hills will host the 2017 Patriot Day, an event that unites Vestavia, Homewood and Mountain Brook in remembrance of Sept. 11.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — In a display of inter-community remembrance, Vestavia Hills will host a Patriot Day celebration in honor of the Sept. 11 terror attacks on the date's 16th anniversary. The even will also feature speaker Brig. Gen. David Ling, who heads the Army Reserve Sustainment Command of Birmingham. Ling previously served as the director for U.S. Forces Korea, working to bolster relations between the U.S. and the Republic of Korea. Student choir group Just Singin’ from Vestavia Hills High School will perform at the event as well.
