Vestavia Hills Lights Christmas Tree At City Hall

The annual Tree Lighting Festival kicked off the 2017 Holiday in the Hills as Mayor Ashley Curry counted down to the lighting of the tree.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — The lawn of City Hall saw a huge crowd on Tuesday night as Vestavia Hills residents came out to see the city's tree lighting. The annual Tree Lighting Festival kicked off the 2017 Holiday in the Hills as Mayor Ashley Curry counted down to the lighting of the tree.

On the stage adjacent to City Hall, performers from Vestavia Hills Schools entertained visitors, including the Vestavia Hills Elementary East Choir, Vestavia Hills High School Rockettes, Vestavia Hills Elementary Liberty Park Singers, dancers from the Magic City Nutcracker, Pizitz Middle School Choir and students from Birmingham School of Music.

Vendors lined City Hall, giving out cookies and other treats to visitors, and kids could sit on Santa's lap on the second floor.
