Vestavia Hills Rebels Head To Huffman After First Win Of Season

The Vestavia Hills Rebels looks to capitalize on the momentum from its win against Oak Mountain as it hits the road to face Huffman.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — It took the Rebels until week 4 of the season to snap its losing streak, but it finally did in its home game against the Oak Mountain Eagles 7-0. Now the team looks to capitalize on that momentum as it travels to face the Huffman Vikings on Thursday.

Huffman, a recent addition to the 7A class, struggled in its first season in the new class, going 2-5 in 2016. In the Rebels' game against the Vikings last year, the Rebels handled the new team well with a 35-21 win. Huffman is currently 2-1 for the season, with a strong win in region play against Tuscaloosa County and a loss to Oak Mountain.

The teams will kickoff at 7 p.m. in Lawson Stadium. (For more updates on this story and free news alerts for your neighborhood, sign up for your local Birmingham Patch morning newsletter.)
