Vestavia Officer Involved In Shooting In East Birmingham

A Vestavia Hills police officer who reportedly witnessed shots coming from a vehicle in east Birmingham fired shots at a suspect.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A Vestavia Hills police officer fired shots at a vehicle after reportedly witnessing a shooting in east Birmingham Wednesday morning. The officer reported that he saw shots fired from a vehicle while he was on his way to work and pursued it until it stopped on Parkway East at Springville Road, according to an al.com report.

Birmingham police arrived at the scene shortly after the shots were fired.

No injuries were reported to either the officer or the suspect, but the al.com report said bullet holes were found on the vehicle.
