Vestavia Runner Sets State Record
Vestavia Hills cross country star Ethan Strand set an Alabama cross country record in a meet in Huntsville Saturday.
HUNTSVILLE, AL — Vestavia Hills High School cross country star Ethan Strand set a state record Saturday at the Southern Showcase in Huntsville.
According to MileSplit USA, Strand ran a record-breaking 14:36:88 5K, leading the Rebels to a 4th place finish in the meet. Strand's finish was listed as MileSplit's Top Performance of the Week.
Strand is ranked first in the state and second in the country in high school cross country, and said in an interview in August he has narrowed down his college choice to three schools, but declined to reveal those schools.
