Vestavia Schools Receive National Recognition For Music Education

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — The Vestavia Hills City Schools' music program again has received national recognition for its ongoing commitment to music education.

The National Association of Music Merchants announced that Vestavia Hills City Schools is a recipient of its 2021 Best Communities for Music Education designation.

Now in its 22nd year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to school districts across America that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide access to music education for all students.

The NAMM Foundation takes into consideration a number of criteria when selecting its honorees, including funding for music education, participation and instructional time in music classes, and overall support for music programs.

"Vestavia Hills City Schools has a rich tradition of providing exceptional music education. Our music teachers are dedicated professionals who instill a love and appreciation for music in the lives of our students," superintendent Todd Freeman said. "Receiving this honor for the fourth consecutive year affirms the commitment of our schools and community to the value of the arts in providing all of our students the opportunity to learn without limits."

Vestavia Hills City Schools has received the Best Communities for Music Education for the past four consecutive years.
