Vestavia's Emma Smith Named To All-State Basketball Team
The Rebels boys and girls basketball teams enjoyed great seasons, and the ASWA honored Emma Smith with an All-State team selection.
VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — Although the Vestavia boys and girls basketball teams each fell short of their state championshoip quests, both teams enjoyed phenomenal seasons, and the Alabama Sports Writers Association honored one hoops star in particular with an All-State selection.
Rebels junior guard Emma Smith was named to the 7A girls first team in the ASWA All-State announcements Sunday.
Smith eclipsed 1,000 career points in the 2020-21 season, and still has her senior season to go.

The girls Player of the Year in each class will be announced April 3 while the boys Player of the Year winners will follow on April 4.
The Super 5 boys and girls teams will be released on April 8 with Miss Basketball announced on April 10 and Mr. Basketball on April 11.
