May 3, 2021
Lady Freethinker (LFT) today announced $24,000 in grants to eight outstanding animal rescue groups through LFT’s Animal Crisis Grant Program, which covers veterinary expenses that have accrued within the past 6 months for the selected organizations. The program is part of LFT’s larger Urgent Needs Grant Program, the organization’s first-ever grant program, which it launched last year to support groups administering medical care to animals in need. LFT will be providing a second wave of Animal Crisis grants later this year.

Sunset Farms Sanctuary in Oregon, Cochise Canine Rescue in Arizona, Circle A Home for Horses in Virginia, and Angelico Cat Rescue in Florida each received a $5,000 grant from LFT to cover emergency medical bills for animals in need. Peace and Paws in New Hampshire, Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue in Michigan, Feline Advocates Coming Together (F.A.C.T) in New York, and Austin Farm Sanctuary in Texas each received $1,000 through LFT’s grant program to supplement their work as well.
“We are ecstatic to be able to support amazing nonprofits saving lives, especially in these tougher times,” said LFT founder Nina Jackel. “Our donor partners consistently want to do more to help ease animal suffering, and these grants help do exactly that.”

Life-saving medical care for rescued animals is costly. Animal Crisis grants bridge the financial gap to enable animal welfare organizations to continue their crucial work. Lady Freethinker accepts applications for the grant program on an ongoing basis.
To be eligible, organizations must be a registered nonprofit established for at least two years, with an annual income between $50,000 and $500,000.
