Photos: Arizona Dam Failure Imminent Due To Rosa Flooding

Flooding Emergency: Tohono O'odham Nation public safety officials issue evacuation warning amidst fear of Menagers Dam failure.

Recent images captured by the Associated Press depict the harmful storm conditions currently underway in Arizona, prompting evacuations in certain areas. The flooding is being caused by rainfall from the remnants of Hurricane Rosa.

Amid mounting fear that the Menagers Dam will likely fail, officials began evacuations in Ali Chuck, the small town consisting of 162 residents located on the Tohono O’odham Nation reservation. Tohono O'odham officials said Tuesday night that residents need to move as far to the north end of the community as possible and said to avoid the area for the next 24 hours. The more than 30 members of the Nation's Kohatk Village in Pinal County were also being evacuated.

With various flash flood warnings in full affect, areas such as Phoenix and just north of the city in Yavapai County are already experiencing dangerous water levels making this one of rainiest months of October for the state. In addition, Utah and Colorado are also on standby as forecasters expect heavy rain to dump there as well.
