Arizona Ending $300 Weekly Unemployment Boost: Ducey
The state of Arizona will no longer pay out the $300 per week federal supplement to unemployed workers, starting July 10. Here's why.

ARIZONA — The state of Arizona will no longer pay out the federally-issued $300 allotment to unemployed workers, effective July 10.
Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey announced the decision on Twitter Thursday, saying Arizona will set aside $300 million for one-time, $2,000 bonuses for those that reenter the workforce full-time.
Additionally, those that reenter the workforce on a part-time basis will receive a one-time, $1,000 bonus, Ducey said.

“In Arizona, we’re going to use federal money to encourage people to work…instead of paying people not to work,” Governor Ducey said in a statement.
As part of Arizona's Back to Work program, Arizona will also offer $7.5 million for community college scholarships to unemployed workers who are eligible for the bonuses, Ducey said.
