Evacuations Ordered As Tussock Fire Spreads Through Arizona

Areas in central Arizona are under an evacuation order as the state's Bureau of Land Management tracks four active fires across the state.

ARIZONA — Several areas in central Arizona are under an evacuation order as the Tussock fire, one of four active fires in the state as of Sunday, continues to spread.

The state's Bureau of Land Management issued the order Sunday afternoon for people in Minnehaha, Fort Misery and Horsethief Basin. People in Crown King should also be prepared if an evacuation order is issued there as well, the alert states.

The Tussock fire, which started Saturday, was burning about 20 miles northeast of Wickenburg and eight miles southwest of Crown King Sunday afternoon, ABC-15 reported. It was at about 2,400 acres and spreading north, about one mile south of the Prescott National Forest, according to the news station, citing Yavapai County Sheriff officials.
