5 Unique Things To Do In Phoenix On Labor Day 2019

Sometimes it seems most everything is closed on Labor Day, but these 5 unique Phoenix events give residents some fun holiday choices.

PHOENIX, AZ – With so many businesses and organizations’ offices closed on Labor Day, Phoenix is still in holiday-happenings mode on Labor Day, this Monday, Sept. 2. Here are 5 off-the-beaten-path events to consider for the holiday:

1. Mom’s Morning Out: Workout + Breakfast, presented by FIT4MOM Metro Phoenix and FIT4MOM Phoenix-Scottsdale, 7 to 8 a.m., Lincoln Heights Christian Church, 2121 E. Lincoln Dr., Phoenix. The moms-only event includes breakfast and an hour-long High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) Body Back workout. Also includes a meditation segment. Free. (602) 263-8492.

2. Labor Day Brunch & Chilaquiles Buffet at PAZ Cantina, 330 E. Roosevelt St., Phoenix, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Create your own authentic Mexican entrée at PAZ Cantina’s all-you-can-eat chilaquiles brunch bar. Mas mimosas served. $16 per person. (602) 281-2930.

3. Arizona Athletics (AZA)-hosted Arcadia Basketball Camp, 1 to 4 p.m., Camelback Village Racquet & Health Club, 4444 E. Camelback Rd., Phoenix. Youth in grades 3-7, boys and girls, participate in 30 minutes of basketball skills work, then 2 1/2 hours of different basketball games. Geared toward youth with high-level-recreational to club-level basketball skills, the camp gets kids running up and down the court while building skills. 4. Honky Tonk Holiday featuring Lil Sue & the Cow Tippers plus Ruff Enuff at The Rhythm Room, a blues, roots and concert club at 1019 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix. Doors open at 4 p.m. Show starts at 5 p.m. Ages 21 and older. $7 tickets can be purchased at the door. (602) 265-4842.
