6-Month Loop 101 And 7th Street Closure Begins Sept. 9
Monday, Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. the off-ramp and on-ramp at 7th Street and Loop 101 in Phoenix will close for six months.

PHOENIX, AZ – ADOT has announced that Monday, Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. marks the beginning of a 6-month closure of the westbound on-ramp and the eastbound off-ramp of Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) at 7th Street in Phoenix. The closures will enable construction crews to complete their task of widening freeway bridges and ramps over Cave Creek Wash, to make room for an additional lane along Loop 101 in each direction. ADOT officials say the ramps are expected to reopen in March.
In the meantime, drivers can reroute by entering Loop 101 at 7th Avenue via the westbound Loop 101 Beardsley frontage road. Eastbound Loop 101 motorists can use the eastbound frontage road after exiting at 7th Avenue to get to 7th Street.
The project is part of ADOT’s $185 million project, which began in February, to make improvements and add lanes to 13 miles of Loop 101 between Pima Road and I-17. The whole project is expected to be finished in early 2021.
