Amazon is adding 5,000 full and part-time employees around Phoenix. Here's what to know about the company's hiring plans.

PHOENIX, AZ — E-commerce giant Amazon is adding 5,000 employees to its Phoenix area workforce.
The openings, which are part and full-time, are centered in Amazon's fulfillment and logistics network, with the roles offering an average starting salary of $17 an hour, the company said.
The openings are part of Amazon's hiring drive, which aims at adding 75,000 employees in the U.S. and Canada.

"We look forward to hiring 75,000 associates across our fulfillment and transportation network,” said Alicia Boler Davis, Vice President of Global Customer Fulfillment at Amazon in a statement. “Working at Amazon also comes with an unwavering commitment to safety, especially as we continue to navigate a global pandemic. In addition to the great pay and robust benefits available to new hires starting on their first day, we’re offering a $100 benefit to any new hire who comes to Amazon already vaccinated for COVID-19.”
Hiring for the positions is already underway, with interested applicants advised to visit Amazon's employment site.
