Arizona Diamondbacks Removing Chase Field Capacity Restrictions

PHOENIX, AZ — The Arizona Diamondbacks will remove all capacity restrictions at Chase Field on May 25.

The team, which has limited capacity to 20,000 during its first two homestands this season, will open up sales to its first full-capacity homestand on May 17.

The move is intended to allow season ticketholders to sit in their original seats, while still adhering to Major League Baseball's mask mandate and allowing appropriate social distancing, the team said.

The first set of full-capacity contests come against the San Francisco Giants, with D-backs President & CEO Derrick Hall saying the end of capacity constraints won't minimize safety for fans attending games.

“We continue to hear from our season ticket holders that they want to return to their original seats and we feel that they can do so safely,” Hall said in the release. “While the seating restrictions will no longer be in place, we believe seat selection for the majority of games should still allow fans to spread out. We continue to work very hard to provide a safe and comfortable environment for fans and will monitor their feedback throughout the season.”

The D-backs are welcoming back fans with a quartet of giveaways, including a Ketel Marte bobblehead May 14-16; a D-backs tribal jersey giveaway on May 29-30; a Father's Day Hawaiian shirt giveaway on June 20, and a two-night fireworks show on July 3 and 4, the team said.
