Arizona Relief Fund Gets $250K Contribution
The fund set up to help battle the coronavirus in Arizona has received a hefty contribution from Arizona Public Service.
PHOENIX, AZ — Arizona Public Service has contributed $250,000 to the AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund, according to a press release from Gov. Doug Ducey's office. The money is meant to help workers combat the spread of the coronavirus.
"Community organizations across the state are working tirelessly to support Arizonans in need during the COVID-19 outbreak," Ducey said in the release. "These dollars will help secure medical supplies for our doctors and nurses and provide assistance to Arizonans facing the loss of their jobs or income. My thanks to APS for their generous contribution and all our private-sector and nonprofit partners for working together to support Arizonans."
The AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund, set up by Gov. Ducey as a part of the Arizona Together initiative, focuses on fulfilling needs like:

- Funding of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for frontline medical personnel
- Supporting non-profit organizations that help vulnerable Arizonans through food banks, homeless shelters, domestic violence facilities, and other services
- And expanding technology access for low-income students to help them transition to online learning
Arizona Public Service chairman and CEO Jeff Guldner said in the release that the relief fund "will be essential in helping to mitigate the impact of this pandemic on Arizonans."
