Arizona Senators Criticize Rand Paul For Coronavirus Behavior
Arizona's senators criticized Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul for reportedly using Senate facilities while awaiting coronavirus test results.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Arizona's U.S. senators criticized Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul for reportedly continuing to use Senate facilities, including the gym and pool, while waiting for the results of a coronavirus test. Paul tested positive Sunday for the new coronavirus, reports say.
Paul took the coronavirus test March 16, according to a statement on his website, due to his extensive travel and a damaged lung. He got the positive results Sunday.
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, a Democrat, called Paul's continuing to work and use Senate facilities "irresponsible," saying in a tweet Sunday it endangers others.

I’ve never commented about a fellow Senator’s choices/actions. Never once. This, America, is absolutely irresponsible. You cannot be near other people while waiting for coronavirus test results. It endangers others & likely increases the spread of the virus. https://t.co/651TJf8mWf

Sen. Martha McSally, a Republican, "couldn't agree more," with Sinema. She tweeted Monday that all Americans must sacrifice their livelihoods and change their behavior in order to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
I couldn't agree more @kyrstensinema. As we ask all Americans to sacrifice their livelihoods and alter their behavior to save lives, we must ourselves model appropriate #coronavirus behavior. No one is too important to disregard guidance to self-quarantine pending test results. https://t.co/0zQx8yrJA4

Paul said he was asymptomatic and left the Senate immediately after learning of the positive results of his test.
