Arrest Made In Fatal Shooting Of Phoenix Teen

Fernando Pina, 35, is facing multiple charges in connection with the shooting death of 15-year-old Graciela Molina, Phoenix police said.

PHOENIX, AZ — Phoenix police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that left a teenager dead. Fernando Pina, 35, has been charged with manslaughter, discharging a firearm in city limits and endangerment.

On Friday around 8:15 p.m., Graciela Andrea Molina lost her life when a single stray bullet crashed through her bedroom window and struck her, police said.

She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but later died.

The shooting happened in the area of 48th Street and Broadway Road. Police said Molina was inside her home during the shooting, and the bullet came from outside.

According to police, it was a community member who witnessed someone shooting a gun in a nearby field and came forward to notify authorities.

Detectives said they were able to locate key physical evidence linking Pina to the crime. He was arrested Sunday.

Pina's bond was set at $750,000 during a court appearance on Monday. He was ordered to not have weapons and to stay away from the scene of the shooting, News 12 reported.

He's scheduled back in court next Monday.
