City Of Scottsdale Announces Traffic Restrictions (May 22-31)

PHOENIX — Following are significant road construction projects and traffic restrictions occurring in Scottsdale May 22 - 31. For more information, contact Traffic Engineering at 480-312-7250.

Loop 101 improvement project.

The Arizona Department of Transportation has begun a project to widen and improve Loop 101 from Interstate 17 in Phoenix to Pima Road in Scottsdale. To learn more about the project and upcoming traffic restrictions, please visit the ADOT’s project webpage, where you can also subscribe to project alerts. Following are current and upcoming restrictions.

• Loop 101 ramps at Hayden Road and Pima Road/Princess Drive will be closed while bridges and ramps are widened. View a flier with a map of detour routes. Following are specific restrictions and dates:
• The westbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Hayden Road and the westbound on-ramp at Pima Road/Princess Drive will be closed from 9 p.m. Sunday, April 12, through June. Detour: Exit at Pima Road and travel west to Hayden Road. Use Hayden Road to access westbound Loop 101.
• The eastbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Hayden Road and the eastbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Pima Road/Princess Drive will be closed from 9 p.m. Sunday, April 5, through June. Detour: Exit at Hayden Road and travel south to Pima Road. Use Pima Road to access eastbound Loop 101.
• The westbound Loop 101 frontage road between Hayden and Scottsdale roads is closed through November. Detour: Use westbound Loop 101 or Legacy Boulevard between Hayden and Scottsdale roads.

Lane closures on Frank Lloyd Wright for road improvements.

As part of Scottsdale’s pavement preservation program, the city will be improving Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard from 100th Street to Hayden Road. Intermittent lane restrictions will occur from Sunday, April 26, to Friday, June 12. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times, but expect heavy delays. Please consider detouring on Cactus Road, 94th Street and Loop 101. Driveway entrances along Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard may be closed briefly for 10 to 15 minutes while the road is paved in front of them, but no other interruptions to service or business access are expected.

Multiple lane restrictions near Scottsdale Road and Princess Drive.

Multiple lane restrictions will occur at the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Princess Drive through Friday, June 19, for utility work.

Westbound McDowell restricted at 64th Street

Westbound McDowell Road will be reduced to one lane at 64th Street 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays May 14 - 27 for utility work. During these same times and dates, eastbound McDowell Road will be reduced to one lane immediately east of the Crosscut Canal.

Multiple lane restrictions at Greenway-Hayden Loop and Dial Boulevard

Multiple lane restrictions will occur at or near the intersection of Greenway-Hayden Loop and Dial Boulevard 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays through Friday, May 29, for utility work.

Multiple lane restrictions near Hayden and McKellips roads

McKellips Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Hayden Road to approximately 84th Street May 26 – June 2 for paving. During those same dates multiple restrictions will also occur on Hayden and McKellips roads intersection.

Multiple lane restrictions near Scottsdale and Osborn roads

Multiple lane restrictions will occur at the intersection of Scottsdale Road, Osborn Road and Goldwater Boulevard 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays through Friday, May 29, for utility work. During those same times and dates, multiple lane restrictions will occur on Second Street from Drinkwater Boulevard to immediately west of Scottsdale Road.

Indian School Road restricted at Miller Road

Traffic on Indian School Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction at Miller Road 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays through Friday, May 29, for utility work. During those same times and dates southbound Miller Road will be reduced to one lane at Indian School Road.
