Coronavirus: Arizona Gov. Ducey Delays Evictions By 120 Days
Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey signed an executive order Tuesday blocking evictions of those affected by the coronavirus.
PHOENIX, AZ — Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey issued an executive order on Tuesday delaying the enforcement of evictions for renters impacted by the new coronavirus. Renters quarantining or experiencing economic hardship are protected by the 120-day order.
"Nobody should be forced out of their home because of COVID-19," Ducey said in a release. "This order is about protecting public health and providing relief to families impacted by this virus — whether through sickness or economic hardship. This is the right thing to do to support Arizona families during their time of need and prevent the spread of COVID-19."
Ducey's executive order also says those at higher risk of being affected by the coronavirus are exempt from evictions.

Arizonans struggling to make mortgage payments also have help. The Arizona Department of Housing runs the "Save Our Home AZ" program, meaning Arizonans may qualify for principal reduction assistance, monthly mortgage subsidy assistance for under and unemployed Arizonans and second lien elimination assistance.
The executive order exempts evictions for twice as long as federal authorities require for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development rules dictate.
