PHOENIX, AZ — Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey announced on Saturday a shipment of medical supplies the state received from the Strategic National Stockpile to help battle the spread of the new coronavirus. The shipment includes over 440,000 pieces of equipment, a release from the governor's office says.

The equipment will be distributed to county health departments to dole out to local hospitals and medical professionals.

"Arizona is working to keep our health professionals safe," Ducey said in the release. "[W]e are working to get these supplies where they are needed as soon as possible. My sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, first responders and everyone working to protect public health and safety during this outbreak," he said.
