Dog Buried Alive At Phoenix Dump Is Found, Rescued
Workers at a Phoenix dump near Lower Buckeye Road and 27th Avenue found a dog buried alive Thursday. "Oscar" was rescued and is now in care.

PHOENIX – Sanitation workers at the City of Phoenix dump near Lower Buckeye Road and 27th Avenue found something they were not expecting Thursday: a dog buried alive in the landfill. Officials believe the dog was placed into a dumpster that then was picked up as usual by a garbage truck. The garbage truck then took the dog in the trash to the dump, azfamily.com reported.
“Oscar” the dog is now in the care of Home Fur Good, a Phoenix animal rescue organization that will provide medical treatment for Oscar. Since being rescued, the dog has already undergone emergency surgery to fix a shattered pelvis and a broken leg. The Two Pups Wellness Fund is helping Home Fur Good with Oscar’s surgical and rehabilitation expenses, and Oscar will continue to need “extensive” medical treatment.
Donations to help Oscar can be made at two websites: homefurgood.org/donate or twopups.org/donate.
