PHOENIX, AZ — July 4 is quickly approaching, which means it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day.

This year's holiday will look a little different than years past thanks to the new coronavirus. Some cities in the Phoenix metro have canceled their events; however, fireworks shows and other activities are still taking place in some communities.

Communities that have canceled Fourth of July events include Anthem, Avondale, Fountain Hills, Phoenix, and Tempe, according to ABC15. Fort McDowell Casino near Fountain Hills and Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale have also canceled their Independence Day fireworks.

Apache Junction and Maricopa confirmed to ABC15 they will have fireworks, but their plans were not yet finalized.

Buckeye Independence Day Celebration
Where: Youngker High School, 3000 S. Apache Rd.
When: July 4, 7:30 p.m.

For this free event, a limited number of spectators will be able to enjoy the fireworks from inside their vehicle or within their assigned parking spot. Learn more

Chandler July 4th Fireworks Drive-In
Where: Tumbleweed Park, 2250 S. McQueen Rd.
When: July 4, 9 p.m.

Parking lots will open at 7:30 p.m. A limited number of parking spaces will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis, and the lot will close once capacity is reached. This year’s event will not offer entertainment, interactive attractions or concessions. Learn more

Gilbert Centennial Fourth Of July Celebration
Where: Goodyear Ballpark
When: July 4, 8:30 p.m.

Spectators should park in the Goodyear Ballpark parking lots to enjoy the show outside of their vehicles within their provided space. The 20-minute show also will be streamed live on the city's social media channels. Learn more

Gilbert Centennial Fourth Of July Celebration
Where: Crossroads Park, 2155 E Knox Rd.
When: July 4, 8:30 p.m.

On July 4, the Crossroads Park parking lot will open at 6:30 p.m. with parking spots available on a first-come, first-served basis. Firework viewing will be drive-in style; no lawn seating will be available. Food trucks will be on-site, but attendees may also bring their own food and beverages (excluding alcohol). Mesa's Celebration Of Freedom
Where: Fiesta Mall, 1425 W. Southern Ave.
When: July 4, 9 p.m.

Like other cities, Mesa has turned its event into a drive-in-style fireworks show. Cars will be parked in every other parking spot, and guest should remain in an empty spot on a specific side of the car so that each group of guests has their own spot for watching. Outside food and drink is allowed, though alcohol is prohibited. Learn more

Peoria All-American Festival
Where: Online or from home
When: July 4, 9 p.m.

Fireworks will be shot into the sky from three locations in Peoria with no onsite parking. All festival activities will be online with an expanded fireworks show that's viewable from backyards, computer screens, mobile devices and TVs. Learn more

Schnepf Farms Hometown Fourth
Where: Schnepf Farms, Queen Creek
When: July 4

This year’s event will feature live music, a National Flag Service, craft vendors, food trucks, a beer and wine bar, and a 30-minute firework show to end the night. Guests can bring food, non-alcoholic drinks, pop-up tents and games to set up and enjoy. Fireworks are scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m. Parking passes are purchased by time slot to help alleviate traffic and wait times. Learn more

Scottsdale Fourth Of July Celebration

When: July 4, 7:30 p.m.

Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers will headline a drive-in concert as part of Scottsdale's Fourth of July celebration. There will also be a parade to honor first responders and essential workers, as well as an evening fireworks show. Tickets are purchased on a per-car basis. Learn more

Where: Near Bullard Avenue and Paradise Lane
When: July 4, 8:40 p.m.

Where: The Wigwam Resort, Litchfield Park
When: July 4, 9 p.m.

The Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park has canceled its "Red, White & Boom" festival, but still plans to light fireworks.
