Hero Cop Who Rescued 4 Puppies Finds Roadblock Adopting One

Scottsdale police officer Stacie Gryzenia rescued four puppies from horrific conditions. When she tried to adopt one, there was a problem.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – The hero police officer who rescued four puppies from horrific conditions tried to adopt one and was met by what she considered a horrific fee. Scottsdale police officer Stacie Gryzenia was told she would have to pay $700 to adopt one of the three black Lab mixes that she had rescued.

She had also rescued a German Shepherd mix.

Gryzenia told AZFamily.com that she would have to pay a $700 adoption fee.

"There was no way that $700 was in my budget,” she said.

The Arizona Humane Society, which nursed the dogs back to health, says the fees cover medical costs as well as things like boarding them while they recuperated and spaying and neutering.
