New numbers out of Maricopa County show 299 cases of the coronavirus and four deaths. Testing is available for some in Phoenix.
PHOENIX, AZ — New statistics announced Wednesday by Maricopa County show that 299 people in the county have tested positive for the new coronavirus, with a total of four deaths. State authorities have been taking measures to slow the spread of the virus and offer assistance to those affected.
Testing is available in Phoenix, but only for those that qualify. Banner Health has set up drive-thru coronavirus testing sites for residents with symptoms who call in for appointments.
Fifty-four percent of the cases are men, and 46 percent are women. A total of 70 percent of cases are people below 60. The total of 299 is up from 251 on Tuesday.

A total of 58 of the reported coronavirus patients, or 19 percent, are hospitalized. Twenty are in the ICU and four have died.
In total, the Arizona Department of Health Services reported Wednesday, there are 508 coronavirus cases in Arizona, including eight deaths.

According to Johns Hopkins University numbers released Wednesday afternoon, there have been 23,568 deaths worldwide of 511,603 coronavirus cases.
In the United States, Johns Hopkins reported, there have been 1,124 deaths in 79,785 coronavirus cases.
