New numbers out of Maricopa County show 299 cases of the coronavirus and four deaths. Testing is available for some in Phoenix.

PHOENIX, AZ — New statistics announced Friday by Maricopa County show that 299 people in the county have tested positive for the new coronavirus, with a total of five deaths. State authorities have been taking measures to slow the spread of the virus and offer assistance to those affected.

Testing is available in Phoenix, but only for those that qualify. Banner Health has set up drive-thru coronavirus testing sites for residents with symptoms who call in for appointments.

Fifty-five percent of the cases are men, and 45 percent are women. A total of 67 percent of cases are people below 60. The total of 399 is up from 299 on Tuesday.

  • 60-plus: 130

A total of 78 of the reported coronavirus patients, or 20 percent, are hospitalized. Thirty are in the ICU and five have died.

In total, the Arizona Department of Health Services reported Friday, there are 665 coronavirus cases in Arizona, including 13 deaths.
