Man Hit By Car And Killed While Waiting For Bus In North Phoenix

Phoenix police are looking for the driver who fled after hitting a man near 28th Drive and Glendale Avenue.

PHOENIX, AZ — A man waiting for a bus in north Phoenix near Glendale was hit by a car and killed Saturday night, according to a local news report. Phoenix police have said it was a hit-and-run and the suspect remains on the run.

A car, a light-colored sedan that's possibly a Honda Civic, struck the man in the street near 28th Drive and Glendale Avenue late Saturday night, Fox 10 Phoenix reported. Police found the man lying in the street, he later died at a nearby hospital.

Witnesses have said the man was waiting for a bus, and stepped into the street to see if it was coming, according to the Fox report. The car was headed westbound and did not stop, the report states.

The fatal victim had not been identified as of Sunday morning.
