NBA Finals: Sky Harbor Asks Suns Fans To Not Mob Team's Arrival

Phoenix Suns fans won't be able to cheer on the team at the airport when and if they clinch their 1st NBA title on the road. Here's why.

PHOENIX, AZ — There will be no joyous welcoming party for members of the Phoenix Suns upon arrival, should they clinch the franchise's first NBA title in Milwaukee.

That's the edict passed down from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport's Twitter account, which said the facility will not allow fans to flock the tarmac, as has become tradition as the team advanced through the NBA's postseason.

"There will NOT be any opportunities at the Airport for fans to see & interact with the @Suns when they arrive in PHX after NBA Finals games," the tweet reads. "Fans should look for organized Suns events where they will have an opportunity to cheer on our home team."

The Suns, who have a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven game series, could clinch a title as early as Wednesday night's Game 4 in the Cream City, with Games 5 and 7 held in Phoenix.

The only other road game, series clinching victory possibility would be for the Suns to capture the series in six games, as Game 6 is the only other contest that will be held in Milwaukee.

Suns fans reacted to the airport's decision with a mixed bag of emotions.
