More concerning for the Nuggets is the fact that only one other starter besides 2021 NBA MVP Nikola Jokic (Michael Porter Jr.) scored more than 10 points in Wednesday's contest.
The Nuggets did have the fourth-best home record in the league, at 25-11, during the regular season.
The Suns, on the other hand, had the best road record in the league, posting a 24-12 mark away from Phoenix.
Here's what to keep an eye on in Friday night's Game 3 between the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets in the Mile High City.
How to Watch: The Suns and Nuggets tip off at 7 p.m. local time Friday, with ESPN airing the contest nationally.
Who to Watch: For the Suns, obviously keep an eye on guard Devin Booker, who leads all Phoenix players, with 27.1 points per game to his name during the postseason. Additionally, keep an eye out for veteran role players, like Jae Crowder and Torrey Craig, who both scored in double figures in Wednesday's Game 2.
For the Nuggets, the show starts and ends with Jokic, who is averaging 25.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game in the series. The issue for Jokic is that he's posted a -27 rating during those games, and has struggled to get his teammates involved, thanks to the swarming double teams that Williams has drawn up for the Serbian big man when he has the ball in the paint.
Aside from the reining MVP, the Nuggets will look to get Porter and fellow forward Aaron Gordon into a flow offensively Friday. Both Porter and Gordon have excelled at times during Denver's postseason run, with Porter averaging 17.4 points per game (the 2nd-most of any Nuggets player), while Gordon lit it up offensively at times in Game 1 of the series, scoring 18 points in 29 minutes, while shooting 57.1 percent from the floor.
Who Vegas Thinks Will Win: The Nuggets are currently a 1.5-point favorite to win Game 3, with an over/under of 223. ESPN's Basketball Power Index gives Phoenix a 50.1 percent chance of winning Friday's Game 3.
