Joan M. Cobourn, age 86, of Joliet, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Joan was born on August 31, 1931 in Canton, IL the daughter of the late Richard and Mildred (nee Wagner) Deer. She was a longtime Joliet area resident. Joan was a graduate of Manual High School in Peoria, IL. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the VFW Cantigny Post #367 Ladies Auxiliary. Joan enjoyed puzzles, sewing, knitting and creating her own porcelain figurines.

Survived is her loving husband of 66 years, Harry L. Cobourn of Joliet; her five children, Diane (Jim) McDonald of Shorewood, IL, Greg (Yvonne) Cobourn of O’Fallon, MO, Richard (Esther) Cobourn of Scottsdale, AZ, Kelly (Kevin) Oglesby of Phoenix, AZ and Dawn (Kerry) Deufel of Plainfield, IL; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; her brother, Bill Deer of Peoria, IL and her sister, Sharon Potter of Joliet, IL.

Funeral services for Joan M. Cobourn will be Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, IL. Enshrinement will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
