Phoenix School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School, Vacations

PHOENIX, AZ — The first day of school in Phoenix is September 6 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Phoenix School District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 9/1: Staff Orientation Day
• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/5: No School (Staff Development Day)
• 9/6: Students’ First Day
• 9/13: Middle School Open House
• 9/20: Elementary School Open House

October

• 10/5: High School Open House
• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)

November

• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day observed)
• 11/13: No School (Staff Development Day)
• 11/16: K-8 Half Day (Parent Teacher Conferences)
• 11/17: K-8 Half Day
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)
• 11/30: K-8 Half Day (Parent Teacher Conferences)

December

• 12/1: K-8 Half Day
• 12/25 - 12/29: No School (Holiday Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (Holiday Recess)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February
