6 Injured In Valley Metro Light Rail Derailment In Phoenix
Six passengers taken to hospital after light rail train hit by car that crossed the tracks at 12th and Washington streets in Phoenix.

PHOENIX, AZ — Six people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries after a truck slammed into a Valley Metro light rail train and knocked it off the tracks on Sunday night.
The collision occurred at 12th and Washington streets around 4:45 p.m., with firefighters de-energizing the tracks to allow them to operate safely.
Valley Metro announced that it would use buses to transport patrons between its stations at 38 Street and Washington and Roosevelt and Central avenues, with trains running between other stations in 30 minute increments.
