Snake Slithers From Engine To Windshield Mid-Drive
A Phoenix man got quite a surprise when a snake came from his engine onto his windshield while driving.

PHOENIX, AZ — A Phoenix man got a slithery surprise Monday when he was driving down Shea Boulevard by State Route 51 when a snake came up from his engine onto his windshield. "Honestly, my first thought is, 'Is this real?' It almost seemed fake at the moment," said Layrd Mahler, according to Tucson News Now.
Mahler "saw a little head pop up," trying to decipher what it was. Once he saw the snake's body, he was sure to check the tail to make sure it wasn't a rattlesnake. It wasn't.
He did what he could to get it off his windshield, including turning on the wipers. But the reptile held on tight.

"I pulled over as soon as I could, popped the hood, looked under the engine, nothing. Started banging around looking hoping it would fall out. I don't see anything," said Mahler, Tucson News Now reports.

Mahler called an animal control company to come look for the snake in his car, but to no avail. "I'm pretty confident it's not in the car anymore," said Mahler.
He told reporters "I've basically given myself a pep talk every day to say, 'OK, be prepared if something pops out.'"
