Tempe's Marquee Theatre Reopens Tuesday

TEMPE, AZ — Live music has returned to Tempe's Marquee Theatre, marking the next step in Arizona's return from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The venerable venue, located a short distance from the western banks of Tempe Town Lake, welcomes music lovers back with a free show Tuesday night.

The show, which is a double-bill featuring The Ultimate Bon Jovi and Animal Magnetism, features a host of pandemic-induced precautions.

The venue announced on Monday that it will initially cap capacity inside the 1,500-seat theatre to 40 percent, though Marquee management can increase that number going forward.

Attendees must also undergo temperature checks prior to entering the venue, with anyone above 100.4 degrees being denied entry.

Masks will also be mandatory except when eating and drinking for patrons and staff, with the venue recommending that everyone wash their hands frequently.

Social distancing is also recommended, with the first eight rows of the venue being reserved for people that purchased reserved pods, which have been eliminated going forward, according to the theater.

The venue will also be deep cleaned and disinfected after each show and all shows will be cashless using an application.

Free water will not be available for attendees so patrons are allowed to bring one sealed liter bottle of water.
