Tucson-Based Eegee's To Open 5 Phoenix Locations
Tucson staple Eegee's is making its return to Phoenix, with five Valley locations set to open in 2021.

TUCSON, AZ — A staple of the Tucson culinary scene, Eegee's is bringing its slushies and grinders back to Phoenix.
The southern Arizona chain announced Friday that it will open five new locations throughout the Valley in 2021. Restaurants are set for Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa and Gilbert, which will get two. No other details about the locations were provided.
“We look forward to becoming a part of the Phoenix metroplex, through job creation at our five new restaurants, charitable giving, and of course, our trademark frozen eegees,” CEO Ron Petty said in a statement.

Eegee's was founded in Tucson in 1971 and has passed through several owners; it was sold in 2018 to 39 North Capital. The chain boasts over 25 locations in Tucson and one in Casa Grande. Since its start, the fast food chain has donated over $3 million to local charities and plans to do the same in Phoenix.
The company recently announced plans for expansion and a new design made entirely out of shipping containers. A new Tucson location will open in January, along with six others set for the rest of 2021.
