Two Dead After Pair Of Killings At Phoenix Apartment Complexes

One man was cut to death, authorities said. Another was shot during a fight with his neighbor. Both happened Friday.

PHOENIX, AZ — Police are investigating two unrelated killings that happened Friday in Phoenix.

Early Friday morning, police were called to an apartment complex at 16800 N. 29th S. after receiving a report that a man had been "severely cut," authorities said in a news release. First responders were called to the complex and later pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Police did not provide a description of the suspect.

On Friday night, Phoenix police were called to another apartment complex at 1400 W. Peoria Ave. after a reported shooting. Officers learned that two men had been fighting when one fatally shot the other.

The men were neighbors, police said. They also knew each other.

Police said the man who reportedly shot the other remained at the scene and was cooperative with officers.

Both killings remain under investigation.
