Two Phoenix Loop 101 Ramps Are Closed Until March
Two Loop 101 freeway ramps in Phoenix closed over the weekend and will remain so until March.
PHOENIX, AZ — Arizona Department of Transportation officials recently announced the closure of the Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) eastbound onramp and westbound offramp at 7th Avenue in Phoenix. The closure is expected to last about three months.
Between now and March, when the ramps are expected to reopen, transportation crews will reconstruct the ramps and widen bridges to accommodate more lanes.
In the meantime, eastbound Loop 101 motorists can get off the freeway at 7th Avenue, then re-enter the freeway using the eastbound frontage road at 7th Street. Those on Loop 101 headed west can get off the freeway at 7th Street, then re-enter westbound Loop 101 using the westbound frontage road (Beardsley).

The 7th Avenue ramp closures are part of a 13-mile Loop 101 improvement and lane addition project between Pima Road and I-17 that began in February. The $185 million project is slated for an early 2021 completion.
