Phoenix firefighters used the jaws of life to rescue a horse in a wrecked trailer that had been abandoned.

PHOENIX, AZ – Phoenix firefighters were quick outof the gate over the weekend, rescuing a horse that had been abandoned in a trailer that crashed. It happened Saturday by Broadway Road and 63rd Avenue.
A passerby had called to let them know about the trailer.
The trailer showed signs of a crash. Officials say that it appears that the vehicle towing the trailer had either crashed or stopped short, causing the trailer to crash. (Get Phoenix Patch's daily newsletter and real-time news alerts. Or, find your local Patch here and subscribe).

First, though, they needed a veterinarian to sedate the horse. They wanted to make sure that he was stable.
