Built in 1967, the "Circular Sun House" was the famed architect's final design. Designed to blend in with the curves of the surrounding mountain, it is one of only 14 circular homes Wright built. The floorplan flows seamlessly from one room to another, all with completely unobstructed views of Palm Canyon and the Valley below. Its curved walls are clad in golden Phillippine mahogany in the three bedrooms and hallway. The entertaining spaces are roomy and flow outside to multiple patios and a uniquely crescent-shaped pool.
Unique finishes include stainless steel-wrapped kitchen counters, a honed Italian rose marble appointed in the master bathroom, handpicked slate floors from India and the original Hope's windows. Not there in 1967, a brand-new flatscreen TV can be found in each bedroom for a modern touch. Mother of pear tile was installed in the pool and adjoining water feature for a touch of elegance. The design of the home embodies the natural landscape it's surrounded by. The home was constructed of colored concrete block to best blend in with nearby boulders. Located near the Biltmore Hotel and constructed on the edge of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, this home captures everything Phoenix has to offer and a piece of history, too.
