Hikers Advised To Avoid Tempe's Hayden Butte After Bee Swarm
Tempe is advising hikers to avoid Hayden Butte on Tuesday because of a bee swarm in the area. Here's what to know.

TEMPE, AZ — A swarm of angry bees has led the city of Tempe to issue a warning to avoid Hayden Butte, or A Mountain as its colloquially known, on Tuesday.
The swarm of bees have led to an elevated number of bee sting reports in the area, the city said, which prompted them to issue the advisory.
Bee swarms can be deadly for humans and pets alike, as the insects can cause reactions in both, according to a study on the subject from the University of Arizona.

For now, hikers and exercise enthusiasts are advised to leave well enough alone and avoid the butte until the threat of bee swarms diminishes.
