Arkansas May Soon Have Only 1 Abortion Clinic

Planned Parenthood says the law limiting access to abortion should be declared unconstitutional.

An Arkansas law restricts how abortion pills can be administered.

An appeals court had reversed an injunction against the law, saying the judge hadn't considered how many women would be "unduly burdened" by it.

The state says doctors who provide abortion pills must hold a contract with another physician who has admitting privileges at a hospital and who would agree to handle complications.

In an appeal filed with the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday, Planned Parenthood says the law should be declared unconstitutional. It says it cannot find any Arkansas obstetrician willing to provide hospital credentials, effectively preventing medication abortions in the state. Arkansas says the law protects women.
