This little girl is a celebrity after her cartwheel at a tee-ball game. She'll toss out the first pitch at Northwest Arkansas Naturals game.

CLARKSVILLE, AR — It’s tee-ball season across America, and little kids everywhere are stepping up to the plate for their first hit. It’s a big moment in their lives, something a 4-year-old from Clarksville, Arkansas, demonstrated with exuberance.

Lyrik Kelsi Danielle Stepp hit the ball. But before running to first base, she turned a cartwheel to celebrate. The stunt earned Kelsi some serious attention in a world that needs all the smiles it can get.

The video has been widely shared, and major media groups have picked it up. She's getting some other attention, too.

Kelsi will throw out the first pitch at Thursday’s Northwest Arkansas Naturals Minor League Baseball game, her grandmother, Crystal Coby Mikus, wrote on Facebook. The Kansas City Royals affiliate plays Corpus Christi at 7:05 p.m. in Springdale, Arkansas.

Why did Kelsi turn the cartwheel? The reason was clear in the 4-year-old’s mind.

“After the game, she said ‘Namz the tee was in my way so I had to do a cartwheel,’ ” Mikus told Radio.com.
