White Supremacist Captured After Escape From Arkansas Jail

The U.S. Marshals Service is searching for Wesley Gullett, 30, and Christopher Sanderson, 34.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AR — Authorities captured the leader of a white supremacist gang who escaped along with another man from an Arkansas jail, according to the United States Marshals Service.

Wesley Gullet, 30, was indicted in February along with several other white supremacist gang members, according to the Department of Justice. The DOJ said Gullett is the president of the New Aryan Empire.

Gullet was captured late Thursday morning near the Ozark National Forest, the Marshals said.

"We are grateful to all our law enforcement partners who have devoted many personnel and countless hours to the search for Gullett and Sanderson," Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Kevin Sanders said in a statement. "Thanks to the vigilance and quick actions of Chief Dalrymple, one dangerous fugitive is back in custody."

According to the Marhsals, Gullett's federal charges include aided and abetted attempted murder in aid of racketeering, aided and abetted assault with dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering, conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute methamphetamine, and conspiracy to violate RICO.

The second escaped inmate was identified as 34-year-old Christopher Sanderson. According to the Marshals, Sanderson is charged as a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Sanderson also has previous drug-related convictions.

Sanderson remains on the loose.

Sanderson is decribed as a white male with brown hair, blue eyes who is six-feet-ten inches tall and weighs 250 pounds.
