The safety of our library customers, staff, and community is our top priority. To support efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19, all four locations of the Fort Smith Public Library will close at the end of the day Monday, March 16, and remain closed through at least Tuesday, March 31. Please check our Facebook page or the library website for updates.
Due dates for all materials currently checked out will be extended, and no overdue charges will accrue while the library is closed. Library staff will be available by phone and email to assist with family history and general research questions and provide assistance with use of the library’s digital resources. In the coming days we also plan to introduce an opportunity for Fort Smith residents without a library card to apply online for a card that will enable access to the library’s digital resources. Curbside holds pick up and streaming of some library programs are also in the works.

24/7 access to downloadable books and audiobooks, streaming video, and many other resources are available on the library’s website. The library’s free Wi-Fi also extends to at least a portion of the parking lots at all four locations and will remain available 24/7 during this time.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Feel free to contact us with questions.
