FORT SMITH, AR -- The nation is about to celebrate its 241st birthday, and it's time to watch the glorious explosions we know as fireworks. Events in the Fort Smith area range from simple fireworks shows to day-long extravaganzas.

- Put on by Fireworks on the Hill and Beyond Church. Event starts at 5:30 p.m.

- At the Alma Aquatic Park starting at 9 p.m.
Tuesday, July 4
- Greenwood fireworks.
- Greenwood Square, fireworks start at 9:15 p.m.

- Choctaw Casino will host a free fireworks display. Event starts at dusk.

- Van Buren fireworks.
- At the Field of Dreams. Fireworks celebration starts at 7 p.m.

- Riverfront Park. Live music starts at 7 p.m., fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
