Email ∙ danny.cervantes@obi.org Give Blood, Make Summer Memories Give Blood, Make Summer Memories ABI partners with Magic Springs Theme & Water Park for donor giveaway June 1, 2021 ─ June 1, 2021 ─ Arkansas Blood Institute announced today a partnership with Magic Springs Theme and Water Park, Arkansas’s only water and theme park, to give one free day ticket to each blood donor from June 1 through the end of August.  Donors are used to getting a t-shirt when they donate, but this partnership expands this, giving them a free park admission that can be used through Magic Springs' entire operating season. “We know that COVID-19 has been the biggest challenge to the blood supply that Arkansas has ever faced,” said Jack Bateman, general manager at Magic Springs. “Magic Springs is proud to support the local blood supplier and patients across the state, by giving blood donors a special thank you and family fun close to home.” Individuals ages sixteen and up are urged to give blood. Individuals ages sixteen and up are urged to give blood. “Summer traditionally challenges our ability to collect blood products, as many are vacationing and outside of their normal routines,” said Dr. John Armitage, President and CEO of Arkansas Blood Institute. “We’re so thankful to our loyal summer partner Magic Springs for helping us reward those who make their summer a lifesaving one by donating blood for those in need.” Blood donation typically takes only about an hour, and one donation saves up to three lives.
