Little Rock School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Little Rock is August 14. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Little Rock School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

July

• 7/27 - 7/28: Check-In: High Schools & Remaining K-8

August

• 8/14: First Day for Students

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/9: End of First Quarter
• 10/12: Parent Conferences (After School, 3 Hours)
• 10/13: No School for Students (Parent Conferences 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.)
• 10/16: No School (Professional Development)

November

• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Holiday)

December

• 12/4 - 12/15: Open Enrollment for 2018-2019
• 12/15: End of Second Quarter
• 12/18 - 1/1: No School (Winter Vacation)

January

• 1/1: No School (Winter Vacation)
• 1/2: No School for Students (Teacher Record/Work Day)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Holiday)

February

• 2/15: Parent Conferences (After School, 3 Hours)
• 2/16: No School for Students (Parent Conferences 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.), P3-12th Grade Assignment Mail Out
• 2/19: No School for Students (Professional Development)

March

• 3/16: End of Third Quarter
• 3/19 - 3/23: No School (Spring Break)
• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day Holiday)
• 5/29: Last Day for Students, End of Fourth Quarter
• 5/30: Last Day for Teachers (Record/Work Day)
• 5/30 - 5/31: Inclement Weather Make-up Days
