Pulaski County, Ark. -- Pulaski County Special School District held a special board meeting on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 to review the school calendar for 2021-2022, among other items. The District submitted a waiver for the Arkansas Department of Education (Act 1240) to continue with an early dismissal on Wednesdays as it did in the 2020-2021 school year.

The 1240 waiver resolution was presented to the PCSSD Board of Education with a motion to approve by board member Tina Ward. However, the request “died on the floor” due to lack of a second. During board comments at the June board meeting, board member Alicia Gillen brought up the calendar discussion once again. However, due to passed deadlines, the board was unable to request a new vote at the next board meeting in July. This means that PCSSD will follow the traditional five-day school schedule based on ADE’s requirements.
The 2021-2022 school calendar can be found on the District website in two formats: At-A-Glance Calendar 2021-2022 and Grid Calendar 2021-2022.
