2017 Oktoberfest Celebrations Across California

Are you ready for some schnitzel, HUGE pretzels and Oktoberfest beer? Well, you’re in luck. Fall is upon us and Oktoberfest 2017 celebrations abound in California.

The original German Oktoberfest tradition takes place every year in Munich. It’s a cultural extravaganza, and this year, its celebrating it’s 184th anniversary. Now that’s a lot of beer!

When it comes to celebrating the German tradition in the states, Oktoberfest events in California are famous for paying tribute to the country’s heritage and rich culture, as well as serving up a ton of German food and beer.

Bonus: Have family members under 21? They’re still invited since most celebrations have things for the kiddos to enjoy, too.

2017 Oktoberfests Across California

Alpine Village Oktoberfest, September 8th-October 28th

• The largest Oktoberfest in Los Angeles is back! The Alpine Village Oktoberfest began on September 8th and runs through October 28th, so if you can't make one weekend, don't worry there are plenty of chances to participate. Grab a stein full of Bavarian beer, chow down on some traditional German food, put on your lederhosen, and get out to celebrate!

Oktoberfest in El Cajon, September 29th-October 1st & October 6th-8th

• Hosted by the German-American societies of San Diego, the El Cajon Oktoberfest is one of the best in the entire state of California. With plenty of Bavarian beers, German food, and great music, this celebration is not to be missed.

Chico Oktoberfest, September 29th-30th & October 6th-7th

• Hosted by the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, come to their brewery for a fantastic Oktoberfest celebration. Join the Sierra Nevada team for multiple fun filled weekends of of Sierra Nevada festbier, feasting, costumes, dancing, raucous music, and more!
